The Civil Engineers’ (CEN) clipart was first published in the spring of 1966 and it has been popular for more than 50 years.
The Civil engineers were among the first civil engineers to understand the potential for the technology of measurement by a human observer, using a tape measure to record measurements.
They were also among the earliest engineers to test the use of a tape recorder in a field and, as a result, the Civil Engineers have been considered the pioneers of measurement measurement in the field.
