A $1 billion civil engineering contract awarded to Jukakut civil engineering will be awarded to build a $1 million nuclear power facility in northern Jukaland state, the state’s chief civil engineer, Abdul-Rahman Mohd Wahid, said on Friday.
Jukakuts government had initially said the state would receive the nuclear project from a Chinese firm.
Mohd Wahad said the contract for the project would be awarded by the end of this year.
The $1 Billion contract will be for construction of the nuclear power project and the construction of two fuel storage sites in the region.
The contract is expected to be signed in June.
